I was born in Moscow, the child of a half-Polish, half-Greek family with deep roots that stretched across Mediterranean and even Asia, including gypsy heritage on my mother’s side. My parents grew up in Mongolia and met just before the collapse of the Soviet Union, and then I was born. Growing up, I was surrounded by a rich tapestry of languages and cultures, which shaped the way I saw the world.

But the true turning point came in my early teenage years when I went on a school trip across Europe. Over the course of that journey, I visited around 10 countries, living with host families.
